Kim will tell you time and again that a great deal of her success online comes from her participation on Twitter. Yet Kim believes that even some of the best social media marketers are not taking full advantage of this powerful platform.
And I would have to agree . . .
As I read through Kim’s article, “7 Ways Marketers Should BE Using Twitter”, I began to see that I too have a long way to go until I am truly maximizing its tremendous features.
Fortunately, Kim provides a “come to Jesus” checklist to help all of us assess our efforts on Twitter.
For example, ask yourself the following:
Am I keeping track of what people are saying about me and my brand?
How well am I using Twitter to drive traffic to my blog or website?
Have I built a community with my current clients?
It’s time to get out of the rut of doing the same things that we and everybody else is doing on Twitter. Evaluating our social media marketing efforts can sometimes be painful and humbling, but sooner or later we all need to take inventory of what’s working, what’s not, and then take action to change or improve it all. Kim’s article gives you 7 ways you can begin that process.
The bottom line for me here is that it is not only important to have a regular Twitter “checkup”, but it’s equally vital to make sure we know and implement the very best tactics that Twitter’s platform offers.
