“If only…” These two little words paired together create one of the saddest phrases imaginable.
You really have to make your journey count every single day, because the distance we each get to travel is a mystery. One day, hopefully many moons from now, you will inevitably find yourself close to the end, and thinking about the beginning. TODAY is that beginning. TODAY is life. Right now you have a priceless opportunity! Forget the past. Forget your age. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. At the end of it, let there be no excuses, no explanations, and no regrets.
Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be? Stop living for other people and their opinions. Be true to YOU.

Moneypenny’s 2¢ Worth: [pullquote]Getting older has changed me. Besides being more wrinkly, I now hear the tick of the clock more clearly. A sense of urgency builds inside me.[/pullquote] And even though medical science now promises 55 year olds like me extended lives into our 90’s, I still feel more and more that life is short. And I think that mind-set is a good thing.
I’m probably not alone in feeling like I have wasted or mismanaged a great deal of my life on this rock. Opportunities lost and flubbed are always ready to rear their ugly head in my mind. Self-condemnation usually follows. Renewed commitments to myself to “get it together” and “make something of my life” start off strong and then fade because of disinterest or lack of focus. Enter my self-condemnation and the cycle churns on and on.
But I know it doesn’t have to continue to be that way.
Angel Chernoff’s article, “9 Ways to Never Regret Another Day of Your Life”, is one of those messages of hope where perhaps you and I can find the firm, but loving, kick in the pants we need to live life without regret. Maybe it’s simply getting older. Maybe its simply being sick of being sick of myself. Don’t really know. What I do know is there is something percolating inside me these days that is new. That gives me renewed hope. It’s an internal drive, an excitement that comes with anticipation of good things and long-term changes that are just around the corner. You may be feeling the same.

Let’s not regret the past. Let’s not end up regretting the end of our lives back to this day. Let’s make today the turning point. Take the time to read through Angel Chernoff’s encouraging words right now and CHOOSE to move forward with life, YOUR life, with no regrets!
